IAED - Initiative to support children in difficult circumstances

IAED (Initiative for the Support of Children in Difficult Circumstances) is an NPO from Burundi. It is determined to strengthen social cohesion, build the economic capacity of low-income households, give them access to formal education and reintegrate children who have been victims of the atrocities in Burundi.
IAED aims to help build a trauma-free society in which children and their families can exercise their rights and have access to socio-economic and cultural opportunities. It also aims to prevent social conflict within the community, develop measures for the protection and comprehensive care of orphans and vulnerable children, and strengthen the host families of orphans and other vulnerable children (OVC).
The organisation is based on the values of Ubuntu (humanity) and volunteerism.
