Oasis of Nations School

Heartbeats has been running a potato growing project together with the Oasis of Nations School in Rwanda since 2021. The primary school was founded to create a safe place to learn. Individualism and freedom are at the forefront for the children here. The school also campaigns against corporal punishment. The potato growing project aims to make the school financially independent so that a budget is available for purchases and extensions. The project started with one hectare and we were able to rent a second hectare at the beginning of 2023. The aim is for the project to be self-financing from 2024 onwards.
